CONCHITA SINGS AT THE OPENING CEREMONY AT THE KULM

The appearance of the world-famous Euro Vision Song Contest winner will be the introduction to a memorable ski flying festival, where a total of 100,000 spectators are expected. "I am looking forward to being involved in the opening of the World Championship, because that is also an honor for me, especially in the region where I grew up. Sport has also a lot to do with respect, and respect for people and their services are very important to me. To jump far on two boards requires a lot of acknowledgement from me," said Conchita. For the Organization Committee President, Hubert Neuper, the commitment of the international well-known stars is an absolute godsend. "It is extraordinary that we were able to get Conchita for the Opening Ceremony. Just like the FIS Ski-Flying World Championships is a great ambassador for our country, so is Conchita.”

 

The Opening Ceremony slogan, "The dream of flying" does not leave any wish open. Along with Conchita, Nadine Beiler who will be accompanied by Markus Steiner, another local music star to be at the opening of the FIS Ski-Flying World Championships, will sing the official World Championship song, „Let them fly”. At the traditional flag invation numerous Austrian ski legends will participate. A special feature will be the 17 participating nations. These are accompanied by three delegates from the host communities. "We were able to win the support for towns in Styria and towns in the Salzkammergut region. For this local connection I would like to thank the communities. This also reflects the diversity of Styria and the Salzkammergut," continued Neuper. Even the moderator of the Opening Ceremony exudes local flavor. Former Nordic Combiners, Mario Stecher, ten time medalist at major events, will lead the celebration. "This is a major challenge, to which I'm really looking forward. Of course, to get this opportunity as a local Styrian is also a great honor."
